Kaligrafi Murni

Istilah ini muncul tidak lepas dari perkembangan kaligrafi kontemporer, di mana huruf bukan menjadi sesuatu yang utama, tetapi juga keindahan yang merupakan unsur dari kaligrafi itu sendiri. Kaligrafi pada awalnya merupakan seni memadukan huruf dengan jenis tertentu sesuai dengan kaidah akhirnya “keluar jalur” tanpa memedulikan kaidah baku. Nah, yang tetap mengikuti kaidah baku –sesuai dengan jenis kaligrafi “yang diakui”– kemudian dinamai kaligrafi murni.
Seolah merupakan kaidah baku, kaligrafi murni tidak boleh keluar dari jalur penulisan: bagaimana bentuk huruf, torehan, maupun ketepatan dalam sapuan. Jenis-jenis kaligrafi juga telah diklasifikasi. Penggunaannya tidak boleh bercampur satu dengan yang lain.
Kaligrafer murni “terakhir” Hasyim Muhammad Al Khattahath menerapkan kaidah kaligrafi dalam sebuah buku panduan yang cukup terkenal bernama Qawaidul Khath Alarabiy. Buku ini beredar luas di Timur Tengah, akhirnya sampai di pondok pesantren di Indonesia. Tidak banyak yang memiliki, hanya orang-orang tertentu yang mempunyai akses ke luar negeri –khususnya Timur Tengah– yang mempunyai buku aslinya.
Di pondok pesantren, buku kaidah ini cukup terkenal. Seperti di Pondok Pesantren Modern Darussalam, Gontor, misalnya, karya monumental itu dicetak kembali secara internal dan di pelajari oleh para santri yang tergabung di Aklam, Assosiasi Kaligrafer Darussalam, kelompok belajar kaligrafi. Di Pondok Pesantren Attanwir –yang terletak di Talun, Bojonegoro– juga ada Asskar, Assosiasi Kaligrafer Attanwir.
Banyak sekali sanggar-sanggar kaligrafi yang mengajarkan khat murni. Namun banyak pula yang akhirnya “keluar jalur” setelah “bosan” mempelajari kaidah-kaidah yang “kaku”. Ada juga yang “frustrasi” karena tidak bisa menorehkan huruf-huruf dengan “benar”, akhirnya “semaunya sendiri.”
